On Easter morning when I was 19 years old, I saw the face of Jesus. I was hiking in the mountains in upstate New York and had lay down in the grass to take a break. The intensity of love emanating forth and pure white light shining from Jesus's face is very hard to describe. The words that came to me were: The most important thing in life is love.
At various other moments in life, I have received, like many others, and you yourself, truth and experiences of which the presence of love and the feeling of certainty is extraordinary, healing and humbling. I have been blessed with many of these moments and my heart has opened because of them.
When insight and truth comes to me this way, I never forget it. I believe when a person discovers truth for themselves it lives in their knowing and presence. It is very different from reading about truth with one’s mind. I mention all this, because it doesn’t matter what I know. It matters what you discover and know yourself. I have witnessed this fact in coaching others for nearly two decades. It is what clients bring forth from within themselves in the safety of our relationship that changes their life.
I could give you a list of accomplishments, (and if you wish to read them please do so under my professional life section), yet, if you asked me about my coaching I will answer simply: I get out of the way. This is called many things, I suppose, but I call it that. Its not me, but what comes through that makes my coaching what it is.
There is a guiding truth in you, an amazing living truth, that if you make the effort and allow it, will lead you. I have witnessed the power of a person’s inner world to guide them through crisis, dilemma, and challenge, if they had the courage to look and the willingness to stay with themselves deeply. What all of us are looking for is within ourselves. It is up to us to draw it forth by our continuous sincere desire and attention.
Several years ago, I had a house with very large windows which looked out at the Ramapo mountains. One day, after a very prayerful morning, I entered one of the north facing rooms. I was shown, like a curtain being drawn, that everything is interconnected. I perceived the plants, grass, trees, and people alive in streams of interconnectedness. There was no separation. Everything is one. So I coach. I get out of the way. It is the best way I have to help clients know the power that is flowing in their truth. It changes them and gives them the ability to trust themselves and do things they didn’t think is possible.
